Every Fifteen Minutes

Lisa Scottoline is the MAN! I read many authors for a plethora of reasons. Nicholas Sparks is for when I need a sappy love story and a good cry. He puts most men to shame. After reading his novels, I can't help but wonder what kind of husband he is in real life. Jodi Piccoult is usually my debate partner, I read her books when I need perspective. She paints a picture from all angles, on many different topics and I'm left trying to figure out which character I agree with more. Steven Levitt always gets my attention with his twist on statistics, correlations and facts. He makes me chuckle and critically think, all at the same time. When I need a Laugh-Out-Loud kind of read, I turn to Kevin Hart. I have his autobiography as a paperback AND audio book😂. Don’t get me started on the self-help books, they are addicting and sometimes earth-shattering but they are their own post-worthy subject.

Back to Lisa Scottoline, I started reading 'Every Fifteen Minutes' and I can't put it down. The first chapter was maybe 4.5 pages and I am on the edge of my seat. It's about a sociopath and I am feeling anxious. By the time I finish, I'll be looking over my shoulder and second guessing the actions and words of every stranger within 10 feet (luckily, the current forecast calls for social distancing😉).

The last time a book took over my life it had vampires and forbidden love (TEAM Jacob all the way!). The Notebook was the first book that I read in one sitting. I was 13, had not kissed a boy yet, and I knew I wanted a guy like Noah Calhoun. That was back in 1999! In 2004 they made the movie and that’s when my preference changed. I wanted Ryan Gosling! Not the Breaker High, Ryan Gosling but the sexy, bearded, build-me-a-wrap-around-porch, Ryan Gosling😍. My only disappointment was the way The Notebook movie ended... it would have been so much better to have the sequel; The Wedding, as a movie too.

I need to get back to reading my book, it's calling my name, seriously though - Lisa Scottoline is the MAN!

(This scene, where he says 'It wasn't over... it still isn't over' is the modern day equivalent to

Dirty Dancing's 'Nobody puts Baby in a corner' 💘)
