The mouth of a gifted horse

Updated: May 16, 2021

I caught wind of something important recently, the lost art of sayings and phrases. I have always enjoyed idioms as a creative way to spice up conversation and drive a point home. I've learned you can't force a horse to drink after you lead him to water, don't look him in the mouth if he is a gift, the truth comes straight from the horse’s mouth and don't beat them after they've passed away.

Let's talk about the elephant on the page. I get the best of both worlds, I started writing at the drop of a hat and by the skin of my teeth I made something worth reading. I'm just pulling your leg, this is a piece of cake, like taking candy from a baby. Don't judge a blog by its title, it's not all fun and games. I often bite off more than I can chew, always trying to keep readers entertained, interested and engaged. The balance between smiling while you read and actually laughing out loud puts me between a rock and a hard place. The answer is in my audience, whether my readers understand me and my objective, it literally takes two to tango.

My mother-in-law is my muse today. She understands that a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. I'm going to throw caution to the wind, go out on a limb and say she truly gets me. It's like riding a bike, I encourage you all to jump on the bandwagon. Let's all bring back the use of famous sayings, its not rocket science more like teaching an old dog new tricks.

There's a method to my madness, if you haven't caught on yet. The lesson here is as clear as mud. If you have followed along than you know which way the wind blows. Nothing can stop me now because when it rains it pours. I have left it all on the page, no stone left unturned. My advice to you, my friends, is make hay while the sun shines, haste makes waste, come rain or shine, it's always darkest before the dawn. This ship has FINALLY sailed.

Let me know in the comments which idioms I have missed - birds of a feather flock together
