two steps back

I am falling behind in almost all aspects of my daily life right now. I feel like I can't keep up; chasing what's next, reacting instead of being proactive. I think it started last week, on Thursday, I was ahead of the game; all of my scheduling was done, customers were being looked after one after the other with time to spare. My home was tidy, not clean, but tidy. Friday morning, I noticed the dishwasher did not run properly the night before. It happens every once in a while, the soap dispenser didn’t open so the dishes were sprayed with water but no soap cycled through. I didn't realize this until AFTER I put the dishes away🤦🏽♀️. I babysat OG Friday morning, which was great, she was wonderful and since I had caught up on all my work on Thursday, I felt good about having some baby-time💖. Friday afternoon, I was waiting for a shipment that never came. I also broke one of our commercial fans that we use in the very hot, very humid, warehouse space; I pulled too hard on the chain😔. Saturday morning, it was obvious things were getting away from me... I put the orange juice in the pantry and I almost put hand soap on my toothbrush instead of toothpaste😳. Sunday was a slower day but instead of catching up on household chores, I sat on my ass, eating lots of delicious, unhealthy food and feeling crappy about my weight. I can't be the only one who does this - eat to feel better about eating too much - sounds logical to me🤷🏽♀️. I woke up Monday morning with determination. Time to take control, put things back in order, and keep moving forward. It's a good thing I chose Monday because the shipments that were late the previous week all showed up within minutes of each other. The mail was overflowing with checks and only a few bills. Four out of the six open orders we have for home gym set-ups got scheduled for the next 2 weeks, so the calendar is full again🤗. I also made time to get on the treadmill, gain over 25,000 steps and complete 3 challenges on my Fitbit (winning one and placing in the Top 3 for the others)🏆. With any luck, I'll be able to stay on track, keep the orange juice in the fridge, the toothpaste on the toothbrush and not break anything else🤞🏽.
